Hats Off For Cancer coordinates hat and fundraising drives across the world, collecting hats for kids who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments. The organization works with hospitals, camps and centers globally to distribute hats to the patients that need them the most. Hats Off For Cancer also accepts personal requests for hats via their web site.

This fan-inspired design was based on the winning submission: "Every Adversity carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit." The imagery here distills this powerful reminder down to its essence, using the A and O to represent the two sides of every challenge: Adversity and Opportunity.

I wanted to give Besties With Testies a hip, but informed feel, so I tried to modernize and break away from the traditional “shields and swirls” heraldry, in favor of sharper edges and more striking imagery. Like BwT’s message, I wanted this shirt to be something that’s hard to ignore.

The twinkles represent how GKTW brings magic and sparkle into the lives of these kids. Cutting away the grunge is a halftone of the world, both as part of the name of the organization as well as the mission of the organization: to “give kids the world.”
